Abstract. There is increasing evidence for concern of the role humans may play in the transport and transmission of herpetofaunal pathogens. This is especially true for emerging infectious diseases caused by the fungal pathogens Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd) and B. salamandrivorans (Bsal) which infect amphibians and iridoviruses of the genus Ranavirus (Rv) which infect amphibians and reptiles (Bd and Bsal: Fisher and Garner 2007; Schloegel et al.
2009; Fisher et al. 2012; Martel et al. 2013, 2014; Auliya et al. 2016; Nguyen et al. 2017; O’Hanlon et al. 2018; Rv: Picco and Collins 2008; Walker et al. 2008; Gray and Chinchar 2015).
