Thomas Crutchfield

Responsible Herpetoculture Breeder (USA)

My name is Tom Crutchfield and I have had a long varied career as a professional herpetologist.

I have traveled to 6 continents looking for wild ones and have bred in captivity over a hundred taxa including 10 species of crocodilians, 5 Cyclura ssp, 4 monitor species including croc monitors (Varanus salvadorii) and 3 species of Tree Monitors.

At the present time I’m researching reptile cognition and I’m an advocate for responsible herpetoculture. For the last 12 years, I have been working toward Mangshan Vipers (Protobothrops mangshanensis). I am also an author.
