Oleksii Marushchak

Scientific Director, Responsible Herpetoculture Foundation

Oleksii Marushchak is a Junior Researcher at the Department of Animal Monitoring and Conservation at the I. I. Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology, NAS of Ukraine in Kyiv, Ukraine. He holds a PhD Degree in Biology and has published a plethora of peer-reviewed scientific articles. Oleksii is the Scientific Director of the Responsible Herpetoculture Foundation, where he applies his immense scientific knowledge to creating and reviewing materials for the Foundation and the Journal. Since 2017, Oleksii has been working at BION Terrarium Center, Kyiv, where he is currently the Deputy Director for Science. Throughout his career, Oleksii has written more than 140 scientific works in biology, herpetology, and nature conservation, including 25 scientific articles (Scopus, WoS, Index Copernicus). For the last 5 years, Oleksii participated in more than 30 International and Ukrainian scientific and practical conferences. His sphere of interests includes faunistics, herpetoculture, responsible breeding, herpetology, GIS-modelling, nature conservation, eco-education, morphology.
