Responsible Herpetoculture Expert (USA)

Firstly, I am delighted to be a contributor to Responsible Herpetoculture. I have a lifelong interest in reptiles and biology overall, which was solidified when I got my first reptile, a leopard gecko, when I was 5 or 6 years old. Since then, I have kept and bred many species of reptiles, amphibians and arachnids, and I do not intend to stop anytime soon! My current focus is chameleons, and as such, I have kept and bred over 25 different species. I am fascinated and delighted by chameleons and given that they are one of the most endangered groups of reptiles, I think we should learn as much as we can about them and should work to conserve them and their incredible habitats. I recently obtained my Ph.D. in Integrated Physiology where I studied the molecular mechanisms linking maternal diet to offspring inflammation and liver function, the consequences of which appear to last for life. I am currently finishing my M.D. degree. I hope to contribute to our understanding of life and the stunning variety of creatures we are lucky enough to share a planet with, for years to come.
