Conservationalis, Leading researcher of Department of Ecology and Head of Laboratory of zooculture and nature conservation in Daugavpils University, Latvia. Dr.biol. (Ecology), degree diploma was received from Daugavpils University in 2009. Has worked (as a coauthor, supervisor, leading researcher) in more than 40 European, international and national research and nature conservation projects. Certified expert of national authority Nature Conservation Agency in the categories: “Amphibians and Reptiles”, “Perccottus glenii”, “Trachemys scripta”, “Still waterbodies”. Research interests: field herpetology, Latvian herpetofauna, its ecology, evolution, and distribution, parasites and anomalies of herpetofauna, invasive threats to native herpetofauna, monitoring, modelling and bioindication, aquaculture, herpetoculture and restoration of biotopes and populations and best herpetofauna conservation management practices. Member of Societas Europaea Herpetologica (SEH), European Pond Conservation Network (EPCN).
