Abstract. The captive husbandry and reproduction of Varanus jobiensis is reported. A wild-caught adult
pair of V. jobiensis maintained together year-round copulated in August 2007, resulting in a clutch of 5
eggs. Three live hatchlings emerged after 179-181 days at a temperature of 28.9 to 32.2 °C.
