Abstract. The successful captive reproduction and osteological deformities of a Varanus prasinus are
reported. Incubation took 170 days at a temperature of 30 °C. Osteological deformities were present at
hatching and progressively intensified over the next six months. Causation of the skeletal deformities
remains unknown.
