Abstract. The collection of Madagascar’s amphibians held in the Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali of Turin includes two collections. The historical one owned by Turin University (MZUT collection), dating back to the 19th century and including several types of Malagasy amphibians, described by the herpetologist Mario G. Peracca, who was the curator at the time. The contemporary collection (MRSN collection) was mainly gathered by Franco Andreone (curator of Zoology collections at MRSN since 1991) during a 30-years long research activity in Madagascar.
