An amateur herpetologist says many of the lizards in New Zealand are so new to science that they don’t even have names.
“Historically, New Zealand has been very poorly explored for reptiles,” says Tony Jewell. “We’ve got huge areas of mountainous country that haven’t been adequately searched.”
